Georges Emeriau - France, damascus.free.fr/ picked a good time to apply to The Blacksmith's Ring. His site is beautiful and well designed, celebrating Damascus and laminated steel.

Monkey business - India Kalicharan Maharana, a blacksmith, has trained rhesus monkeys to replace a human assistant in his shop. The monkey operates a charcoal oven blower by rotating a handle.

Take the BABA poll The British Artist Blacksmith Association has revamped and upgraded its quarterly magazine. They are offering magazine subscriptions to non-members and needs your opinion.

anvilfire removes translation system from News page. In Volume 17 we experimented with something new, Systran's on-line translation service. The system may work for certain types of web sites but created a huge amount of overhead and work for us. On a page that has links to hundreds of other pages it was impossible to make the system work properly.

Future editions may be translated and static pre-translated copies of each page maintained. If our translation service is useful to you we would like to hear about it.
