The lunch line at the Boone Hammerfest was the best way to size up the attendance. And YES, everyone got fed and in a reasonable time! A good time was had by all. Thankyou Boones! | ||||
That line looked just as long from the other end. |
Unlike last year's miserable weather the day at the Boones was a perfect early spring day, cool and clear.
The demonstrators this year were local folks from CVBG, BGop and MASA.
Dan Boone once again demonstrated making his signiture Dragon Head.
AND they served a wonderful catered lunch. As in past years this private event was hosted by the Boones at their expense with Iron-In-The-Hat helping to cover the costs. Since the event has become so popular they will probably have to charge a small fee for the meal in future years. |

Kayne and Son showed off their new sales trailer.
This is a more convienient setup than they had before and shows off the inventory better. Look for them at the next California Blacksmith Association Spring Conference April 2 - 4. Then the BGoP Spring Fling, Warrenton, Va April 16-18. Covering the West Coast and East Coast in the same month! |
||||
Tailgaters were there too!
Also Blacksmith Supply LLC (John Elliot and Anthony), a representive of Thermodyne demonstrating plasma torches, John Larson with his Iron Kiss Hammers, and the late Roger Duncan with Double Ought Iron. |
||||
Burr free sample cut in 16ga steel. Cut was made as fast as you could move your hand. |
Thermodyne was there demonstrating a little plasma torch that ran on 120 or 240 VAC and compressed air.
It was a very impressive little machine

Something For Everyone
There were rides for the kids and crafts for the spouses noit interested in the blacksmithing. There was also anvil shooting and a Cival War mortar demonstration. Add fine weather, tailgaters and a demo by Dan Boone and you can't get any better than that! |
