Four Half Moon Stakes

3 Half moon stakes

Half Moon Sheetmetal Working Stakes

Photos provided by Andy Mason, UK, digitally processed and grouped by Jock Dempsey.

The stake at the top is more of a half hemisphere than the typical hatchet edged half moon stake. This one appears to have been partially forged in a shaped dies from hex stock.

The two stakes at the bottom are obviously from the same manufacturer. These are open die forged and beautifully shaped with a ledge for driving them into a holder.

Fabricated Half Moon Stake

The stake above is a shop fabricated half moon stake of dubious utility. The parts are hand shaped and arc welded together.
