Theirry found this anvil while shopping at a flea market or "marche aux puces" in Limoges, France. He says,
"I found a hammer and asked the owner if he has any other blacksmith stuff at home.
Yes, he answered, he has a huge anvil and gave me his adress.
The next day, we visited him an bought the anvil.

I've called this a bataeu (French for "small boat") anvil since the other French anvil looks like a "pig".
This is a member of what I call the Mediterranean anvils
(Catalan, French double horn and Italian)
which all have short legs or no legs and are double horned.

French "Pig" Anvil
The other traditional French anvil and inspiration for one of our cartoons.
While this is a different style anvil the markings are very similar and hints at the same manufacturer.
