Catchings Miniature Anvil Collection

Silver Colonial Williamsburg Retirement Anvil

Silver Retirement Anvil

Photos provided by John Catchings, digitally processed by Jock Dempsey.

These silver anvils were made by Colonial Williamsburg Master Silversmith Jim Curtis for retiring Williamsburg Master Blacksmiths. They are shaped the same as the reproduction Colonial anvils in the Williamsburg blacksmith shops.

Only five were known to be made by Jim Curtis before he retired. The first was given to John Allgood and this is likely to be his.

Dimensions:
3-7/8" x 2-3/4"
