TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding is a welding process used primarily to weld aluminium and stainless steel. It was also known by the proprietary name Heli-Arc when helium was used for the inert gas. While used mostly for exotic hard to weld materials it is also used for steel and bronze.

TIG uses a high frequency electric power source, an inert gas or inert gas mix and a tungsten electrode.

"Tigger" a popular A.A. Milne character from Winnie the Pooh and other books published in the 1920's.
