7...marked: J E B flanked by Eagle insignia (stamped into metal) 


I have a WWII German anvil with no obvious (to me) foundry markings & I would like to identify the place of
  manufacture. Has a serial # stamped on the foot, the letters
  J E B, flanked by eagles, stamped on the side of the base.

8. ..hardey hole measures 7/8",but more likely 22mm
