Up for auction is this 500 LBS PETTERWRIGHT BLACKSMITH ANVIL WITH ORIGINAL CAST
IRON BASE. This is a very rare,, museum quality set. It was made by Petter Wright,,,one of the best anvil
makers there ever was. The anvil by itself weighs 500 lbs,, not counting the heavy base. This anvil is in
beautiful condition, smooth surface with square corners, and very clean. This is a forged anvil instead of
being casted,, this giving it much more rebounce and ring. It has a very lound clear ring,, beautiful. It
measures 35 1/2 inches long,, with a surface measurement of 5 1/2 by 22 1/2 inches long. Just being a 500
lbs Petter Wright makes it very rare, but this anvil has a very rare factory made cast iron base. This is
beleived to be the only Petter Wright base in existence! This base is very heavy,, measureing 1 1/4 inches
thick. The top edge has a lip inwhich the anvil sets down into. This base is in excellent condition,, with no
cracks or chips. The anvil or the base,, has no repairs. This is the finest and rarest anvil that I have seen. It is
investment quality. This peice would greatly add to your blacksmith collection, or museum. Buyer must
