The Last Day of the Hammer School was spent making projects.
Above are the fire rakes made by the students of the August class I attended.
Those that had time also made shovels to match and the type of leaf candle stick shown to the left.
The range of students varied from non-smiths to serious hobbiests and professionals. All managaged to make their elements and complete their projects. Students come away from this class with a new insight into how steel moves and can be moved. Techniques that take years to master by hand were performed after a few hours. As a crash course into the possibilities of the medium there can be none better.
