Tal Harris demo |
Vol. 2 ABANA - Vol. 4 ABANA Late Edition Vol. 3 Camp Fenby Edition Vol. 5 PABA Edition |

Tal Harris demonstrated joinery and discussed various fitup problems as well as forging technique.
Among the things discussed is what happens to a long piece when you punch holes, incise or texture it.
Generally the piece becomes longer.
If there are critical fits or hole centers then care must be taken to determine how subsequent operations are going to effect the piece.
While straightening a piece Tal made the mistake of asking if it was straight enough and Clay Spencer pipes up, "Its either straight or it isn't, and that's a direct quote from Francis Whitaker!" Tal replys, "I guess I set my selg up for that one -- there will be more". One of Tal's first demonstrations was marking and making a flat cross joint in flat stock. |

Clay Spencer striking for Tal Harris Tal's fireman and help was busy when Tal needed a striker so Tal asks Clay to step up and strike for him. Tal, "Yep, just ask a rocket scientist to strike for you and all you have to do is nod and he'll strike!" |
