Upsetting Tool on a Nazel Electro-Pneumatic Forging Hammer

Upsetting (making the stock larger) is one of the most difficult tasks for the blacksmith. Here an upset in 5160 tool steel is being made on a power hammer using simple dies. Video from Wallace Metal Works and Nazel.com.

Features the last Nazel™ electro-pneumatic hammer manufactured (1973). These hammers are prized above all other self-contained hammers due to their excellent control and durability. Many of these hammers are 80 years old and still command higher prices than NEW hammers of similar design.
